Pilates is both a mind and body workout as a whole. The movements require concentration and precision to gain full advantages of the exercises.
By lengthening and toning muscles, it sculpts the body. By working deep postural muscles it helps to build a strong and healthy back, strong abdominal muscles and excellent posture. It helps build overall strength by focusing on strong abdominals and core stability.
Regular practice can alleviate many different ailments such as back pain and neck or shoulder tension just to name a few.
The 'Classical' Pilates exercises that Joseph Pilates developed may take many years to perfect and may well be beyond the capability of the average person. In my classes, we break down those 'Classical' exercises so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of Pilates whilst working safely and effectively as they move towards the more advanced exercises.
In my classes, you will use the exercises like building blocks, starting with the basic moves with the aim to gradually build up strength to perform the more challenging 'Classical' Pilates exercises.
